Happy Nowruz!

Ouuuufff! This weekend is an exciting one in Washington, between the St-Patrick’s day and the Spring Equinox; let’s add on to this list Nowruz, the Persian New Year!

This Saturday in Washington come celebrate the New Year (a different way this time) and the arrival of spring with music and dance! For the second year in a row, the Nowruz market will be opened to the public and it is the perfect opportunity for friends and family to discover local artists, crafters and spirited creators!  It’s also the ideal time to learn more on the Persian culture with live performance from the Silk Road Dance Company and the Haft sin tables!

No worries there will also be various activities for kids and pop-up tents where you can enjoy a lovely cup of tea and nibble on classic bakeries!

PS: Did you know that for thousands of years, people celebrating Nowruz have been decorating eggs just like on Easter!
